This decorative vase was probably made between the years of 1920 and 1935 during the last years of the craze for art glass. It mimics the popular designs of the art glass movement of the earlier 1900s, featuring swirls of vibrant yellows, blues, reds, oranges, and burnt umber glass over a pearly white opal glass body. It has two transparent applied handles placed on opposite sides of the vase. The opalescent white body shifts to a bold yellow at the neck and then red around the lip, and is cased in clear glass. The brilliant red and yellow, as well as the classic form, recall the influence of glazed Chinese ceramics, which also feature these brilliant colors. This vase was crafted with skill and attention to detail; this can be seen in the lack of seam lines, and in the understanding of the varied techniques used to make this vase.
