Carl Jung (1875–1961) Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and the founder of analytical psychology. To Jung, the most important and lifelong task imposed upon any person is to achieve harmony of the conscious and unconscious, which makes a person whole. Jung wrote extensively, with a particular interest in the implications of spirituality and symbols in relation to psychology.
