This dish is decorated with a pattern called Brocade, which consists of radiating panels of a dragon, prunus branches, and green scrolls between panels of ornamental diamond shapes and circular mons, or badges. The design was inspired partly by Japanese porcelain, although the palette was embellished. It appears on dessert wares and teawares.
