John Dugdale
American, born 1960
The photograph in the MMFA collection was one of a group of photographs that grew out of a spread on lusterware porcelain that Dugdale produced for Martha Stewart Living in 1994. After completing that assignment, Dugdale began a series of photographs of his own American porcelain collection as well as other nineteenth-century objects around his home. These photographs, with the addition of some nudes and self-portraits also taken in his home, comprised the show, Lengthening Shadows at Nightfall, which began touring in 1994 from Wessel O'Connor Gallery in New York. The photograph in the MMFA collection was included in this exhibition.
