Louis Bouché
American, (active 1896–1969)
Louis Bouche was an artist who painted in the realist mode in mid-twentieth century in New York. His drawing of a nude model was typical academic practice for artists of that and many eras. Bouche's facility with the medium of graphite (soft pencil) is indicative of his training in traditional the art schools of New York and Paris. With a minimum of strokes the artist has suggested the textures of the woman's skin and hair, as well as the contours of her torso and limbs.
