Jacques Henry Lartigue (1894–1986) Lartigue studied painting at the Académie Julian in Paris and exhibited throughout his career, but his greater fame came as a photographer. He started making photographs as a child and continued until the end of his life, amassing 120 volumes of photo albums. The Museum of Modern Art mounted a retrospective of his photos with a small catalog in 1963 and he soon published The Family Album and Diary of a Century.
