Estrellita Karsh (born 1930) The smart, socially adept, organized, and photogenic Estrellita worked closely with her husband from their marriage in 1962 until his death in 2002, using her gracious manner and attractive appearance to great advantage when engaging Yousuf’s many celebrity subjects during portrait sittings and social situations. Karsh made many loving portraits of Estrellita. This is one of the more formal pictures—a profile view of Yousuf’s young wife wearing a strapless evening gown in the first year of their marriage.
