Josef Albers' "Homage to the Square" series of paintings, begun in 1949, was the inspiration for a compendium of silk screen prints. Two former students, Norman Ives and Sewell Sillman, worked with Albers for almost two years, producing 127 prints in two portfolios entitled "Formulation: Articulation", published in 1972 in an edition of 1000.
